London’s Bridges

What would London be without its bridges? London’s Bridges makeup the backdrop of millions of photos and images of London worldwide, consisting of foot bridges, road bridges and train bridges, today London has 24 bridges crossing The River Thames.
Starting with London Bridge, Lacking in spectacular as bridges go, London Bridge makes up in history. The current bridge opened in 1973, yet a bridge has been in this spot since the Romans occupied London 2000 years ago. The first bridge was constructed in 50 AD and was the first to cross the River Thames. Over the years the London Bridge has been replaced thus taking the name.
London Bridge with its famous name is often confused with London’s most spectacular bridge Tower Bridge. One of the world’s most photographed bridges. Constructed with two towers and connected by two walkways forming a suspension bridge as well as a lower moveable bridge (Bascule Bridge).
